happy treat day!

i went a little nuts baking this weekend.  first up was not-very-red velvet cupcakes for the residents on call saturday or sunday.  {i'll make sure to put more food coloring in them next time.}  no pictures, but they looked quite similar to these.

then it was halloween!  & what better way to celebrate halloween than with orange cupcakes?!  so, i made carrot cake cupcakes...

with cream cheese frosting...

for the halloween applicant dinner!  a few of us decided to dress up.  because why not?  it is halloween.

blakey informed me of the dressing up about...oh...5 minutes before leaving.  so i was uber creative & dressed up as a pastry chef.  the carrot cake cupcakes enhanced the ensemble.

blakey was a pirate.  a pirate from the best surprise birthday party of all time.  but that is another story another day.
