blakey & i had a fabulous birthday weekend in atlanta!! we went on an amazing culinary tour. we ate. we ate some more. & then we ate again. my dream weekend :) but it was also just so nice to get away with my husband & date him for two days. he's a pretty fantastic date, that man.
our first stop was at the world's largest drive-in, the varsity. this nostalgic place in midtown atlanta is full of history & fun. we ate some fantastic comfort food - a chili cheese slaw dog, bacon cheese sliders, onion rings, french fries, a frosted orange, & an apple pie! yes. we really did eat all of it!
our next stop was a fun bar for some ou basketball & a beer tower. stats is a fun sports bar with a scrolling marquee of stock quotes, drink specials, & sports scores. fun place!
we FINALLY got to drink the rombauer chardonnay we bought on my birthday last year! actually, that's not technically correct. i completely forgot to bring the bottle with us. so my wonderful husband went out & bought a bottle for us! he's seriously the best. & so is this wine.
our two AMAZING meals are to come! get excited.
