go dawgs! sic 'em! woof woof woof woof.

a few short weeks ago when georgia was still undefeated with great hopes of making it to the sec championship & maybe even the national championship, blakey & i headed to athens with our georgia friends for our first sec football game!

sarah & will hosted our inaugural sec saturday with a tour of their college town, a walk around the bulldog campus, a fantastic tailgate, & a really fun football game.

as with most things southern, the campus was absolutely gorgeous.  huge old trees lined the streets of fabulously old buildings.  there is so much tradition in the south, & blake & i cannot get enough of it.

{the original university of georgia building}

there is a huge clock tour on this ridiculously large 40,000 acre campus, in which the bulldogs ring the bell for hours & hours after a win.  blakey & i got to ring the bell on this occasion!

in georgia, you wake up at 6 in the morning to start your tailgating.  even for a night game!  we set up shop just north of the awesome 100 plus bar downtown area with our tent & gameday food & cornhole boards.  it was a fun fun football saturday.

{how awesome is this georgia bus??}

for the georgia vs tennessee matchup, the bulldogs even allowed a few volunteers at their tailgate.  ooooh, that orange.  it is... bright.  :)

{fun with the new panorama picture function!
can you spot our friend who made it in the picture twice??}

with some very good negotiating by my husband, we found some awesome seats in the lower level!  we even made it in the stadium in time for the opening ceremonies.

the stadium is quite beautiful itself.  it has an open endzone with "the bridge" that students & fans can walk by & see into the stadium even during the game.  the whole stadium feels so much more like a pro stadium than ou's.  we finally decided it must be because it was all built at one time - always planned to look just like it does.  & it is pretty neat.

by the way, the title of my post - that is actually what they yell at every kickoff.  go dawgs!  sic 'em!  woof woof woof woof!  oh yes, they bark.  it's great.

a wonderful game & a wonderful win down in athens!  cannot wait to go back.  thank you thank you, sarah & will for a wonderful weekend!

love love,
kjp.
