we have so so many things to be incredibly thankful for this week.
i will name two for you:
1. the past week & a half has been absolutely fantastic. the beach with amy & ogden, lisa & nonnie coming out to see us, and ashy & cari coming out to see us too. amazingly blessed.
one of my friends at work looked at me the other day & said, "i can tell your people have been here. you are talkin different."
seriously, he said that. it was fabulous.
so, thank you, "my people" for being here. you are the best people anyone could ask for.
{by the way, i still say i have never had an oklahoman accent...except when i'm drunk & use the words "truck" or "drunk" or other words with that vowel sound. nor did i ever get an alabama accent. he must be mistaken :) }
oh, & i've finally caught up on sleep from the past week & a half. i feel like a normal, awake person again. pretty awesome.
2. blakey & i signed up for a small group at church titled "marriage built to last" for engaged & newly weds. we really wanted an opportunity to meet other people around our age, going through the same life situations we are. & it is always fun to strengthen our marriage.
we even talked two friends into joining the class with us - matt & elyse, the most adorable recently engaged couple from texas. love them.
last night was our first class & it truly was already more than i could have hoped for. another couple stayed after class & chatted with us. they also have a puppy that runs their life. & they happen to know all of the florida grads in blake's residency. that is so cool.
our teachers are a super lovely couple that have been married for years & have the most wonderful southern accents. after class, we joined matt & elyse for dinner at urban cookhouse & our cute teacher couple was there too!
foodies. love them all.
a work friend & a past work friend were dining there too. running into people we know out & about in birmy - makes me feel like i'm home.
so cool.
i hope you can think of something for which you are thankful today.
love love,
kjp.
