we had no shortage of awesome food at the beach. when we got in on friday night, we headed to a local hot spot for fresh seafood po boys. fried shrimp for me & fried oysters for the others. so good.
saturday morning, the boys were off to the seafood market up the street to pick up some shrimp caught that morning for our awesome beach dinner. what awesome beach dinner? a shrimp boil, of course!
{oh, boys.}
amy & i decided dinner was the boys' full responsibility. blakey was in charge of the appetizer - he fried up some of those fresh shrimp. delicious! a little louisiana shrimp fry + our tiny cuisinart frier = fantastic. he proved he is a good southern boy.
ogden was up for our main course: a down home shrimp boil. we had the shrimp, the potatoes, the onions, the sausage, & the corn cobs. so so so good. we headed to the back patio with a big trash bag over the table, toppled the boil on top, & went to town.
& this was all that was left:
oh, beach, we loved you. we planned our return trip the entire drive home. a winter trip? perhaps. i could sit outside in a comfy sweatshirt reading a book while tanky & lola run around. hot chocolate & apple cider in the sand. love it.
good thing blakey & i are headed back to the beach next week :) party with justin & peyton this time! awoohoo.
the south is a good place to be.
love love,
kjp.
Yay the fryer!! We found ours while moving and I can't wait to use it to make a true Oklahoma dish: fried okra. Probably with fried catfish. and maybe hush puppies
