between the historical stops & the plethora of delicious food, we had the opportunity to learn so much more about birmy during my birthday weekend!
we spent one afternoon looking around the civil rights museum. it is really neat in a holocaust museum type way. so much information, so much emotion. it made me very grateful that things often do change for the better.
of course, i had to take dad & ruth to see vulcan - birmingham's statue on the mountain. this time, we actually walked through the museum as well. great info about the city we now call home.
{hehehe}
{beautiful view of downtown}
as with everything important i do, food was involved. good food. no, fabulous food.
friday night, we got to try chez fon fon for the first time. it is frank stitt's french restaurant. so very good.
saturday night birthday dinner was at little savannah. i had the opportunity to work with little savannah's chef clift holt at a dinner earlier this month. he is fantastic. he arrived in a black harley chef's jacket & jeans. awesome. the coffee-crusted lamb is so unbelievable. try it. seriously.
birmy truly is a marvelous place to live. & my birthday is a marvelous thing to celebrate :)
love love,
kjp.
