a little bittersweet.

i told you about the fabulous book i am reading by shauna niequist titled bittersweet {here} & {here}.  it has begun to open my eyes to the good during the not so good.

blakey has been on call a lot lately.  & as it turns out, i like it better when he's home more.  

so i've started a new tradition with this new bittersweet leaf i've turned.  every night blakey is on call & i'm home, i rent a really girly movie that he would hate to see, pick up exactly what i want for dinner, drink a glass of wine, & let tanky sleep in the bed with me that night.

it's actually pretty fun.  one night was whole foods salad bar & sex and the city 2.  another was leftover 90s party food & burlesque.  & then feta pizza and breadsticks & life as we know it.  {the last was a not good movie, by the way.  burlesque: started slow but turned out to be fantastic. sex & the city: exactly what you expect it to be.}

so as mrs niequist says:

when life is sweet, say thank you & celebrate.

& when life is bitter, say thank you & grow.

here is to growing today.
