mint juleps & a horse race.

for the kentucky derby this weekend, we partied with the residents, southern style!

kentucky bourbon slushes were the house beverage.  blakey's homemade washers game made its debut.  & we even watched a little horse race.  

{side note: the kentucky derby was on may 1st last year.  the boys got to watch it at the church while blakey awaited his bride.  this sporting event will forever hold a little place in my heart.}

i was cheering for Watch Me Go & blakey was for Nehro.  my 33-1 odds came in second to last.  typical.  blakey's choice actually came in second.  well done, sir. 

great evening with some great people.  hope you had a fabulous weekend too!
