& to give credit where credit is due: crimson & whipped cream, an adorable coffee shop & bakery on campus in norman, posted a picture of a super cute pumpkin whoopie pie in a cupcake wrapper.  i fell in love & had to do the same.

thankful thursday # 40.

sometimes you just need one person to believe in you.  even if that person isn't yourself.

one of the doctors hired me to make a really impressive cake & cookies for her son's birthday this weekend.  i said yes, for some crazy reason.  it is going to be pretty difficult.  i'm really nervous.

but she believes i can do it.  & so does blake.  & so does julie.

so i'm going to do my best.  & day 1 went incredibly more smoothly than expected.

{well, after i found my lost sheet pans.  how does one lose two sheets pans?!  when they get stuck behind the drawer under the oven.  you should have seen how boggled i was.}

today, i am thankful for people believing in me, even when i don't believe in myself.

{yes, yes, i'll post pictures next week!  if they don't look awful.}

maybe you can be that one person who believes in someone that really needs just one person to believe in them.

& i hope you can think of something for which you are thankful today.

a little kj.

sometimes a long day calls for a great glass of wine!

& kj, to me, is a great glass of wine.  my favorite, as you probably know, is kj's vinter's reserve chardonnay.  but i thought i should try the syrah for a wintery beverage. 

it is quite good too.  no chard, but very good.

by the way, i'm pretty sure i was named after kj.  kendall-jackson...kendall jordan.  coincidence?  i think not. 

but my parents would never admit to that :)

sunset at railroad park.

blakey, tanky, & i took a walk to railroad park on friday night to watch the sunset from the top of the hill over the railroad tracks.  

it was awesome.

we love this city.  & being downtowners.  & our life.

we heart college football.

we heart college football.

a whole lot.

so we headed down to tuscaloosa to experience all the wonderfulness {minus the sooners} that is a saturday afternoon of college football.

it was awesome to be in a college town with school colors & pride & cheers all around.  the abundance of crimson & cream definitely made us feel a bit more at home.  the "roll tide"s, not so much.  but i always responded with a little "boomer sooner" :)

we walked around campus.  saw the gigantic stadium.  breathed in a little post-game day action.  experienced the amazing-ness of the southern tailgate.  even walked by the bama kappa house:

it was a wonderful saturday.  all of it.  

& we even made it home in time to watch the "game of the century" {most boring game of the century, if you ask me.} from our couch.

hope you're hangin in there, tide.  we feel your kicker pain.  

but i'd be lying if i said i was cheering for you :)

happy friday! eat a pumpkin cupcake.

it cracks me up the things i forget to tell you all about.

in september, when we passed the autumnal equinox, i changed up our seasonal baked goods at work.  the blueberry scones went to maple pecan scones {& are ironically changing today to cranberry citrus.  yum.  both.  all 3, actually.  as it turns out, i really like scones.}  & our lemon cupcakes changed to pumpkin spice!

love me some pumpkin.

& my favorite fall trio: cinnamon, clove, & nutmeg.  throw those three in cream cheese frosting & you will be a happy person too.

so happy friday, friends!  go eat a pumpkin spice cupcake.  maybe a pumpkin spice latte too.
